On June 8, 2012, the Honourable Bob McLeod, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, tabled “Respect, Recognition, Responsibility: The Government of the Northwest Territories’ Approach to Engaging with Aboriginal Governments” in the Legislative Assembly. This document represents the Government of the Northwest Territories’ commitment to a set of principles and key actions aimed at renewing and improving relationships with Aboriginal governments, in support of the 17th Legislative Assembly’s priority of strengthening relationships with Aboriginal governments as outlined in Believing in Our People and Building on the Strengths of Northerners… (see more)
